Who is Jeffrey Ntuka?


Jeffrey Ntuka hails from Kroonstad in the Free State and is a product of the SA Soccer School of Excellence. He was snapped up by English Premiership Champions Chelsea and brought to Belgium by in order for him to adapt to the European style of football.

It was not long before the talented youngster broke into KVC Westerlo first team, Jeffrey began to make a name for himself in the 2005/6 season when he put in a man-of-the-match display against previously unbeaten Anderlecht in a 2-1 win - Jeffrey earnt the penalty that led to the winning goal. Jeffrey Ntuka performances has helped KVC Westerlo maintain their grip on fourth spot in the Belgian League.

Jeffrey made his senior South African debut in the 3-2 friendly defeat to Senegal in Port Elizabeth. Ntuka is one of his country’s most promising young players and a host of top European clubs have been monitoring his progress.

The 20 year-old midfielder, who can also operate at the back, continues to impress in the Blegium League which he hopes will one day lead him to return to Chelsea ready to test himself in the English Premiership.

Ntuka received further good news this week when he was called up to the senior South African squad for the Nelson Mandela Challenge match against Egypt to be played in London tonight at the Brentford’s Griffin Park ground. Chelsea’s sporting director Frank Arnesen will be there to watch the player and see if he may be ready for Premiership football.
